Our Story

Born and raised in India, Gayatri Badriprasad moved to California for graduate studies and has lived in the Bay Area for the past 15 years, working in Product Management.

As a mother of two young children attending elementary school, she observed a growing need for AAPI awareness and a lack of cultural education options in the East Bay. While classes on Indian music, dance, language, and religion were available, what was missing was a more modern approach to cultural education. In 2021, she launched Camp Indian Explorers—a program designed to provide South Asian social studies that resonates with today’s children through their personal journeys and school experiences. Over the past four years, she has taught students with Indian, Pakistani, Afghani, and Tibetan backgrounds and plans to expand the program across the Bay Area.

Gayatri is currently pursuing an Education degree at UC Berkeley, focusing on 'Educating for the 21st Century,' to deepen her understanding of educational theories and modern learning practices. Recently, she has been exploring the intersection of AI and critical pedagogy to develop a curriculum that examines the history and culture of countries worldwide, including students' ancestral countries and their unique learning needs.
